Ode
A boutique residential development comprising of seven luxury apartments, Ode is situated in the Melbourne suburb of Toorak. The second most affluent suburb in Australia, Toorak has timeless appeal thanks to a close-knit and loyal community who place great value on how long you’ve lived in the area. For Ode to enjoy the same longevity as its residents it was positioned as ‘a new chapter in the heart of Toorak’ and this became the point of departure for the brand development.

As the new kid on the block, it was essential for the property to be enveloped in Toorak’s story in order to stand the test of time. With this objective, the brand idea of ‘enduring time’ was developed. The custom drawn logotype embodies this concept – each letterform is the product of two converging shapes representing the intersection of past and future. The lettering materialises as elegant architectural forms that allude to the interaction of light on surfaces; shadows that simultaneously look backwards and forwards.
Ode is a well-mannered property designed to age gracefully and provide timeless gravitas in an eclectic architectural setting. The visual identity was designed to connect to these features using minimal, structured choices to reflect the architectural vision and create a connection between people and place at every opportunity. The natural materials used in construction informed the brand palette of neutral and textural tones. The open and airy residential interiors were translated into spacious content layouts and generously proportioned images. The quietly confident architectural attitude was expressed through a minimal and rigorous approach to typography.
Ode was marketed via a comprehensive digital and print campaign which included direct email, press advertising and targeted print communications. The site hoarding brought to life the Ode logo which was fabricated in three-dimensional form with illuminated elements. We also designed a bespoke property book for agents to present to potential buyers. It was a custom designed clothbound book featuring foiling details to the outer surfaces and contained property renders, team and location information as well as floorplans.
